WRITING

Write a research paper about the statue of liberty and/or immigration.  We chose to write one paper about the statue of liberty and another about what it would be like to be an immigrant and make the journey to America.  Be sure to include this information in your research:

  • Who built her, when and why?

  • What does she look like (materials and dimensions)?

  • What does she symbolize? (freedom of religion, press, and speech among other things can be discussed here)

  • What is immigration and what does it have to do with the Statue of Liberty?

  • How many statues that look like the Statue of Liberty can you find?  Check out other statues at this link.  We were surprised how many places have there own "Statue of Liberty"
